So pissed Conservatives won majority, say goodbye to:
1. Universal Healthcare
2. Pro-Choice
3. Gay rights including the possibility of making same-sex marriages illegal
4. Trans rights/recognition
5. Support for families who struggle to afford childcare for their kids, in turn impeding…
another thing to kiss goodbye: science funding
It's not voter apathy. It's a messed up voting system.
Okay, we’re a bit apathetic, but not enough to get a Harper Majority. And we’re not against women’s rights, lgbt rights, environmental protections, raising corporate taxes, more investment in education and healthcare, and other great stuff.
No, this happened because of our messed up voting system. We need proportional representation. Not strategic voting and more youth votes (though youth votes are rad)
It’s either that or a coalition (i like the former option)
more representative voting system def needed. check out Saskatoon-Humbolt, for example. what a joke.
